Airlie Walsh joined the TODAY team in 2008 and began reporting for Weekend TODAY in 2010.

Airlie began her journalism career in Adelaide, with a stint of work experience at the Nine Network newsroom, whilst completing her Bachelor of Journalism degree at the University of South Australia in 2003. During this time Airlie also gained experience at Radio Adelaide 101.5FM.

A passionate dancer and actor, Airlie relocated to Sydney in 2004, where she graduated from Brent Street, Australia’s prestigious school of performing arts, honing her skills as a dancer, singer and performer.

Airlie spent the following year working with the likes of Guy Sebastian and Delta Goodrem, performing at the MTV and Aria Awards, and featuring in numerous television commercials.

It was not long before Airlie caught the travel bug, leading her to Vancouver, where she worked in the newsroom of Canada’s leading television network, CTV.

Upon returning to Sydney in 2007, Airlie worked as a journalist at Radio 2SM, a part of the largest regional radio network in Australia.

In 2008, Airlie began work at the TODAY Show as the Online Producer, where she has steadily risen through the ranks. As a Segment Producer, Airlie travelled with TODAY to regional Victoria for the Black Saturday bush fires, to Brisbane during the Swine Flu outbreak and to tornado struck Lennox Heads in 2010.

Born in Canada to an Australian mother and Canadian father, Airlie enjoys travelling and continues her love of ballet with classes at the Sydney Dance Company.
