Sutherland to Surf

The 37th Sutherland to Surf is to be run or walked on Sunday 27 July 2008 from Sutherland Entertainment Centre Flora Street Sutherland to Wanda Surf Club 11 kms away (mostly downhill). The walkers start at 8.30 a.m. and the runners start at 9.00 a.m.

Our weather guru Stevie Jacobs is at the Wanda Surf Lifesaving Club in North Cronulla, NSW checking out the preparations for the event.

The Sutherland to Surf is organised by volunteers and supports Wanda Surf Lifesaving Club with funds raised supporting surf lifesaving. This is truly a community event with 6,000 walkers and runners of all ages expected to enter.

Entry (late now) Adult $38.00, Child $23.00, Pensioner/Senior $23.00, Family $75.00.

China earthquake appeal

We were all moved by the terrible earthquake in China. The devastating quake claimed more than 80,000 lives and left five million people homeless.

In the village of Beichuan everything was destroyed. As locals try to rebuild their lives We’re asking you to lend a hand to help raise money to build a new school to Australian safety standards.

We need to raise $325,000 to build a school for 500 students. The TODAY Show have donated $1000. You can donate at any branch of the National Australia Bank
