SOLDIER BEHEADED IN STREET MURDER

A man believed to be a serving British soldier has been brutally murdered on a busy London street near army barracks in what Prime Minister David Cameron said appeared to be a terrorist attack. Witnesses said about 2.20pm local time the two suspects pulled up in a car, mounted the pavement and ran over the soldier before jumping out of the car and attacking him with sharp weapons. It is also understood one of them was carrying a gun. Armed police soon showed up on the scene and shot and wounded the two suspected attackers.

THE SEARCH FOR LIFE CONTINUES IN TORNADO OUTBREAK

Rescue teams are combing through a blasted moonscape that had been an American suburb after a monstrous tornado tore through the outskirts of Oklahoma City, killing at least 24 people. The National Weather Service has forecast more tornadoes later on Tuesday, with parts of Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas most likely to be affected.

SIX DEAD IN OKLAHOMA TORNADO

At least six people are dead after the Oklahoma City tornado. There are also reports that several children have been pulled out of rubble alive at a primary school. The National Weather Service said the tornado's preliminary classification was an EF-4, with winds up to 320 km/h.

SEARCH CONTINUES FOR MISSING PARAGLIDER

Police have resumed their search for a second man who went missing during a paragliding lesson on Victoria's southwest coast. The body of 52-year-old paragliding pilot Rob Lithgow was pulled from the sea at Nirranda, near Warrnambool, on Sunday morning. Mr. Lithgow was on a tandem flight with a 66-year-old South Australian man who is still considered missing.

WOMAN DEAD, MAN MISSING AFTER SNORKELLING EXCURSION

A 41-year-old woman's body was found washed up onto the beach yesterday south of the coastal hamlet near Ningaloo Reef, Western Australia. The woman's 48-year-old partner is still missing in the water, with the Water Police Co-ordination Centre leading the marine search and rescue operation.

Following the death of her mother to ovarian cancer at 56, Jolie underwent medical testing to discover she had the BRCA1 gene. GROCON WALL COLLAPSE

It's now been four weeks since the collapse of a wall in Melbourne's CBD claimed the lives of three innocent pedestrians. Melbourne siblings Alexander and Bridget Jones were on their way to meet their father when they were fatally struck by the wall, with thirty three year old French research fellow Marie-Faith Fiawoo was also killed in the collapse.

The tragedy is currently the subject of three separate investigations, and has now triggered a protest over the safety of grocon sites around the country.

TODAY was joined by grocon CEO Daniel Grollo, and national secretary of the CFMEU Dave Noonan at the site of the wall in Melbourne.
